About Diamond Mapenzi Beach Resort

Diamond Mapenzi Beach Resort is an all-inclusive resort on the beach at Nungwi, at the northern tip of Zanzibar. It is designed for the second half of a safari holiday, when the focus shifts from early starts to long, easy days by the sea, with very little to organise.

Being all-inclusive, it keeps things simple. Meals and drinks are generally included, so you can move between the pool, the beach and the restaurant without keeping track of a bill, which is a welcome change after weeks of planning and travelling. It lets the holiday settle into a simple, easy routine.

Nungwi is known for its white sand and bright turquoise water, and it is a lively but friendly stretch of coast. It suits travellers who want to rest properly, swim, snorkel and perhaps visit the island's spice farms, before heading home. The resort is the first step of your beach days, and a good base for exploring the northern end of the island.

When to stay

Zanzibar is at its best from June to September and again in December and January, when the weather is generally drier and the sea is calm and clear. The long rains fall roughly from March to May, which can bring heavy showers and some closed businesses, and the short rains arrive around November. It is always warm, so beach days are possible in most months.
