When to stay

Zanzibar is at its best from June to September, when the weather is drier and the sea is bright, and again in December and January. The long rains, roughly March to May, bring heavy showers, humid air and some quieter resorts, and the short rains arrive around November. Nungwi is warm all year, so the choice is mostly about rain and crowds. Sunset views are reliably lovely in the drier months.
