Section 01

About these terms and who we are

Who runs this website and what these terms cover.

This website, lemalasafaris.com, is run by Lemala Safaris, a Tanzania safari and Kilimanjaro operator. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Lemala" mean Lemala Safaris, and "you" means anyone who visits or uses the website. These terms cover the use of the website itself: reading pages, sending forms, using the safari advisor and opening private links.

They do not cover a safari or climb you book with us. Those arrangements are governed by our booking terms and by the quote and invoice we send you. If you are unsure which document applies to a particular question, ask us and we will point you to the right one.

Section 02

Accepting these terms

By using the site you agree to these terms.

By visiting or using lemalasafaris.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website. You can still contact us by email at info@lemalasafaris.com, and we will be glad to help you plan your trip in the way that suits you best.

If you use the website on behalf of a company, a family or a group, you confirm that you have the authority to do so and that you will share these terms with the people you are acting for. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to read these terms and to use the enquiry forms for you.

Section 03

What the website is for

The site gives information and takes enquiries. It is not a booking engine.

The website exists to help you explore safaris, destinations, lodges and Kilimanjaro routes, and to let you get in touch with our team. You can read itineraries, download our guides, sign up to our newsletter, send an enquiry, ask a quick question on a safari page or apply as a trade partner.

The website is not an online shop or a booking engine. You cannot reserve or pay for a safari simply by browsing or by filling in a form. Every trip is planned with a real person from our team, who prepares a personal quote that reflects your dates, your group and your wishes.

  • Browse safaris, destinations, accommodation and travel information.
  • Send a Plan My Safari enquiry or a quick enquiry from a safari page.
  • Download the safari planning guide or the Kilimanjaro guide.
  • Sign up to the newsletter, or apply to become a trade partner.

Section 04

Enquiries and quotes are not bookings

A booking only exists once you accept a quote and the deposit is received.

Sending an enquiry, chatting on WhatsApp, receiving an automatic reply or exchanging emails with us does not create a booking. An enquiry is simply a request for information and for a personal quote. We are under no obligation to hold dates, vehicles, guides or rooms until you have a confirmed booking.

How a quote becomes a confirmed booking, including deposits, changes and cancellations, is set out in our booking terms, which you can read at /booking-terms. Please read them before you accept a quote. Where your personal quote differs from the website, the quote applies to your trip, because it is written for you.

Section 05

Using the site fairly and lawfully

What we ask of everyone who uses the website.

Please use the website in the way it was designed to be used and in line with the law. We want every visitor to have a fast, safe and pleasant experience, and we want the team to receive real enquiries from real people. The points below describe what we mean by fair use.

We may block access, remove submissions or refuse to reply where we reasonably believe the site is being misused. We may also report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities. If you notice a security problem or something that does not work as it should, please tell us at info@lemalasafaris.com.

  • Do not scrape, copy in bulk or harvest content or contact details by automated means.
  • Do not attack, overload, probe or try to break into the site, the admin area or its systems.
  • Do not send spam, false or fake enquiries, or use our forms to pass on unrelated material.
  • Do not try to bypass the spam protection, the rate limits or any access control.
  • Do not use the site to harass others or to break any law.

Section 06

Your enquiry and contact details

Give us accurate details and only share what you are entitled to share.

When you send an enquiry, a quick enquiry, a newsletter sign-up or a trade application, please give us details that are accurate and up to date. We use them to reply to you, so a wrong email address or phone number means we cannot reach you. Phone numbers should include the country code.

By ticking the consent box on a form, you confirm that you are happy for us to contact you about your request. If you give us details of other travellers, including children, please make sure you are allowed to do so. How we handle your information is explained in our privacy policy, which you can read at /privacy.

Section 07

The safari advisor chat

The advisor uses AI to suggest ideas. It can be wrong and it is not professional advice.

The Plan page includes a safari advisor chat. Its replies are generated by artificial intelligence, so they may be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong. Treat them as friendly starting ideas for your planning, not as facts, promises or professional advice of any kind, including travel, medical, legal or financial advice.

The advisor does not know our prices or our availability and cannot give you either. Real prices, dates and arrangements are confirmed only in a personal quote from our team. The text you type is sent to third-party AI providers so that they can produce a reply, so please do not enter sensitive personal information such as passport numbers, health details or payment details.

Messages are not stored by Lemala as an account, and the conversation lives in your browser. If you like, you can send the conversation into the enquiry form so that our team can see what you were thinking about.

Section 09

Content, itineraries and prices

What you read on the site is a guide, and your quote is what counts.

We take care to keep the website accurate, but safari and mountain travel change. Itineraries, lodges, camps, routes, inclusions, activities and any prices shown on the site are examples and guidance. They may be updated, replaced or withdrawn without notice, and they are not an offer. Your personal quote is the document that sets out what applies to your trip.

Seasonal timing is indicative. Migration movements, rains, river crossings, bird seasons and weather can shift from year to year, and nobody can promise where animals will be on a given day. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, and the same is true of summit success on a mountain climb.

Distances and elevations on the site are given in metric and imperial for convenience, and they are approximate. If you spot an error, please let us know and we will correct it.

Section 10

Photographs and credits

Where our pictures come from and what you may do with them.

The photographs on the website come from three sources. Some are our own photography, taken by the Lemala team. Some are stock photography from Pixabay, which is supplied under a free licence. Others are openly licensed images, which are credited on the pages where they appear, along with the terms of their licences.

You may not copy, download for reuse, publish, sell or edit our own photography without our written permission. Images from other sources remain subject to their own licences and to the rights of their creators, so please check those terms with the original source before using them. If you would like to use one of our pictures, send us a short note and we will gladly talk it through.

Section 11

Intellectual property and the Lemala name

The site, our words and our brand belong to Lemala or its licensors.

The Lemala name, the logo and the honey badger emblem are the identity of our business. The text, itineraries, guides, page layouts, design and software of the website are also protected by intellectual property law and belong to Lemala or to those who license them to us. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

You are welcome to view the site, print a page for your own planning and share a link to it. Please do not use our name, logo or emblem, copy our guides or itineraries, or suggest that your business is connected to ours without our written permission. Please also do not frame or mirror our pages on other sites.

Section 13

Availability and changes to the site

We aim to keep the site running, but we cannot promise it will always be available.

We work to keep the website available and secure, but we do not promise it will be free of interruptions, delays or errors. It may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, updates, technical faults or reasons beyond our control. Parts of the site may also be hosted or delivered through services that fail without warning.

We may change, add or remove pages, features, languages, guides and forms at any time, with or without notice. English is the language of the site today, and more languages are planned. If the site is down when you need us, you can still reach the team by email at info@lemalasafaris.com.

Section 14

Disclaimers

The site is offered as it is, without promises that it is complete or error free.

To the extent the law allows, the website and everything on it are provided as they are and as available. We do not promise that the content is complete, current or free of mistakes, that the site will be uninterrupted or free of harmful code, or that it will suit your particular purpose. You use the site at your own risk and judgement.

Travel information on the site, including advice about health, visas, weather, safety, tipping and what to pack, is general guidance only. Rules change, and your own circumstances matter. Please check current requirements with official sources and with your doctor and insurer before you travel, and talk to us about anything that affects your plans.

Section 15

Limitation of liability

Our responsibility for the website is limited, but never beyond what the law allows.

To the extent the law allows, Lemala is not liable for any loss or damage that arises from your use of, or inability to use, the website. This includes loss from relying on the content or the safari advisor, from links to other sites, or from interruptions, errors or harmful material. It also includes indirect or consequential loss, such as lost opportunities.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes anything that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live. This section deals with the website only. Responsibility for a trip you book is set out in the booking terms.

Section 16

Privacy and cookies

How we handle your information and use cookies is explained on separate pages.

Our privacy policy, at /privacy, explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who it is shared with and what choices you have. Please read it if you plan to send us an enquiry, sign up to the newsletter, use the advisor chat or open a private document link.

Our cookie notice, at /cookies, lists the cookies and browser storage the site uses and explains how to change your choice. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. Both pages form part of how you use the website, and we encourage you to read them alongside these terms.

Section 17

Governing law

Tanzanian law applies, without taking away rights you have where you live.

These terms, and any dispute that arises from your use of the website, are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. If we cannot settle a disagreement by talking it through, the courts of the United Republic of Tanzania will normally be the place to resolve it.

If you are a consumer, and the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived or replaced by a contract, those rights stay with you. These terms do not take them away, and you may be able to bring a claim in your home courts. We would always prefer to hear from you first and put things right directly.

Section 18

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and the date at the top tells you when.

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add a feature, change a service we use or respond to a change in the law. The updated terms apply from the date we publish them, and the last updated date on this page shows when that was. Please look at this page now and again.

If you keep using the website after the terms change, we take that as your agreement to the new version. If a change is important, we will do our best to make it clear on the site. A booking you have already confirmed stays under the booking terms that applied when you accepted your quote.

Section 19

Contact

How to reach us about these terms or the website.

If you have a question about these terms, a concern about something on the website, or a request to use our photographs, please email us at info@lemalasafaris.com. You can also reach us through the contact page, or by using the WhatsApp button on the site. Please tell us which page you are asking about so we can help faster.

We read every message and aim to reply as soon as we can. For anything that needs a quote or a booking, the quickest route is the Plan My Safari enquiry, because it gives the team the details they need to begin planning with you.

Questions people ask

No. An enquiry is a request for information and a personal quote. A booking exists only when you accept a quote and we receive the deposit stated on your invoice. See the booking terms for the full steps.

Not without our written permission. Our own photography is protected. Stock and openly licensed images follow their own licences, and openly licensed ones are credited on their pages. Send us a note if you would like to ask.

The laws of the United Republic of Tanzania apply. If the law where you live gives you consumer rights that cannot be waived, those rights remain yours.

Keep them to yourself and your travelling party. They are signed and private, and some can expire. If one stops working, or you think someone else has seen it, email us and we will send a fresh link.

No. Sightings and seasonal timing are indicative, and prices on the site are guidance. Your quote sets out the price and arrangements for your trip.
