About Elewana Treetops

Elewana Treetops is part of the Elewana Collection and takes its cue from its name, lifting guests above the ground for a different perspective on Tarangire. From up in the canopy the park feels more panoramic, and the movement of elephants through the trees becomes something you can watch rather than simply pass.

This is the luxury end of the Tarangire circuit, with a swimming pool and a spa listed among the facilities. After a morning in the park, it is easy to imagine long, slow afternoons by the water, with the bush stretching away beyond the deck.

One of the photographs shows a thatched suite built around the trunk of a baobab, which says a lot about the character of the place. Add elevation, comfort and a landscape known for large elephant gatherings, and it is a strong pick for travellers who want their Tarangire stay to feel special.

  • Raised camp with views at canopy height
  • Part of the Elewana Collection of camps
  • Swimming pool for hot afternoons between drives
  • Spa for unhurried treatments after safari
  • Wildlife viewing straight from the camp
  • Set in country known for big elephant herds

Setting

Tarangire is a landscape of baobabs, acacia woodland and seasonal river channels, and the camp's elevated position lets you look across it from above the usual sightline. Expect broad outlooks over the surrounding trees and, with luck, elephants passing below. The park's dry-season concentrations of wildlife make this a particularly rewarding place to pause and simply watch.

Rooms and tents

As an elevated luxury camp, the accommodation is raised off the ground to give guests those canopy-level outlooks. Suites are built into the trees, and one photograph shows a thatched room set around a baobab trunk. Expect a higher standard of comfort than at the simpler camps nearby, and ask us for current details on room types and family arrangements.

Dining

Dining is part of the Elewana experience, and guests can usually expect meals served in a setting that makes the most of the elevated position and the view. Expect a polished but relaxed approach, with early breakfasts on game-drive days and a leisurely dinner after. Tell us about allergies or dietary preferences in advance and we will make sure the camp is aware.

Things to do from here

  • Game drives in Tarangire National Park
  • Watching elephants from the camp's raised outlooks
  • Swimming and lounging by the pool
  • Spa treatments between drives
  • Birdwatching across the surrounding woodland

When to stay

Tarangire shines from June to October, when the dry season pulls elephants, buffalo and plains game towards the water and the vegetation thins for clearer viewing. From a raised camp, that is when the outlook feels most dramatic. The long rains usually fall from March to May and the short rains in November and December, bringing green landscapes and fewer visitors.

Good to know

  • Photographs of the interiors are limited, so ask us for the latest details on room layouts and finishes.
  • Raised walkways or stairs are typical of elevated camps, so tell us if anyone has mobility needs.
  • Ask us to confirm child policies, as luxury camps sometimes set age limits or family arrangements.
  • Transfers and park logistics are arranged by Lemala, and we can fit this stay into a wider northern circuit.
