Overview
Five days of game viewing, then four unhurried nights on Zanzibar's northern tip.
A honeymoon should have room to breathe. This one gives you five days among Tanzania's best wildlife and four nights on Nungwi's white sand, with nothing scheduled that you did not choose.
The bush half takes in Tarangire's elephant herds and baobab woodland, two days in the Central Serengeti, where lions and leopards are regularly seen, and a day with your guide on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater, which carries UNESCO World Heritage status. Then a flight swaps the safari vehicle for the shore at the northern tip of Zanzibar.
On the island, the days are open: dive, drift out on a sunset dhow, wander Stone Town, or do nothing. Two accommodation levels are offered, both selected to keep the pace slow and the nights comfortable.
- Tarangire's elephants and baobabs
- Two full days in Central Serengeti predator country
- A guided descent into Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Four nights on Nungwi Beach at the end of the trip
- Two lodge levels chosen for a relaxed honeymoon pace

The difference
A romantic trip, paced for two
The safari days are active but compact, and the stays are arranged to limit packing and long transfers. Karatu serves as base for the first and fourth nights, so you return to the same bed after the crater.
Once you reach the coast, the schedule opens up. Nothing is booked for you on the beach days, so the plan can follow your mood.
Along the way
Highlights of the trip
Tarangire
Elephant herds moving beneath ancient baobabs.
Central Serengeti
The Seronera Valley's resident prides make this one of Africa's most dependable places to see lion in any month.
Ngorongoro Crater
Black rhino, rare elsewhere in Tanzania, can be found here during a single outing.
Nungwi, Zanzibar
White sand and clear water at the island's northern tip, with diving, dhow cruises and Stone Town within reach.

No. Game drives, the flight to Zanzibar and the beach stay are all arranged and guided, which makes this a good first big trip.
