Overview
Eight days to Uhuru Peak, a proper rest, then a flight into the plains and a day in Ngorongoro Crater.
Climbers ask one question more than any other: what comes after the summit? This trip answers it. Eight days on the Lemosho route, a trail many guides regard as the most rounded way up the mountain, are followed by a whole rest day in Arusha, a flight direct to the Serengeti and a full day inside the Ngorongoro Crater.
The two halves are sequenced with care. Lemosho leaves you properly spent, so recovery is built in before the safari starts, and the move into the bush is by air rather than another long road transfer. Fourteen days under one booking means no juggling a trekking company and a separate safari operator.
- The full eight-day Lemosho profile, whose slow pace gives the body extra time to acclimatise
- A genuine rest day, not a skipped one, before the safari begins
- A flight from Arusha into the Serengeti that spares you a second long road transfer
- A full day in Ngorongoro Crater, one of the region's more dependable places to find the Big Five
- One continuous booking and one team, with no hand-off between trekking and safari

What you can expect to see
Plan the climb for January to March or June to October, when the mountain is driest, then follow with safari while the weather is at its best. June to October gives the clearest game viewing, and January to March adds the calving season in the southern Serengeti. April, May and November are the wettest months.

Questions
Good to know
Separate bookings mean two sets of logistics and no certainty that the handover between them runs smoothly. Here both parts sit under one booking, with a recovery day built into the middle.
We strongly recommend it. Eight days on the mountain, summit night included, leave most climbers tired, and a day of proper recovery makes the safari far more enjoyable.
Eight days on foot is enough; another lengthy drive would be a poor way to follow it. Flying out of Arusha gets you into the park on the same day.
The eight-day Lemosho schedule is slow enough to acclimatise well, which is why it is a popular pairing. We can discuss realistic expectations when you enquire.
Yes. Six- and seven-day versions can be swapped in, though the eight-day option usually suits a safari that follows.
It covers Kilimanjaro National Park fees, a mountain guide and full crew, camping gear and mountain meals, the Arusha to Seronera flight, all 13 nights of lodging, game drives, and the park and conservation fees for the safari. International flights, visas, insurance and gratuities are extra.
Yes. Zanzibar is a popular way to finish after Day 14, and your consultant can add it.
