About Arusha Coffee Lodge

Arusha Coffee Lodge is part of a coffee-growing estate within easy reach of the airport, which makes it a natural place to begin or end a safari. After a long flight, you arrive somewhere quiet and green rather than in a busy town, with a pool and gardens to help you shake off the journey.

The setting is leafy and cultivated, with gravel paths running through shaded gardens and private cottages tucked among the coffee bushes. In the evening the main building glows around a reflecting courtyard pool, giving the whole property a gentle, polished atmosphere that feels settled and unhurried after a day of travel.

Most guests pass through here for a night or two, and the lodge is well placed for that role. It lets you sleep properly, adjust to the time difference and enjoy a good dinner before the road to the parks, or recover afterwards before flying home.

  • Working coffee estate close to Kilimanjaro Airport and Arusha
  • Private cottages with verandas among the coffee bushes
  • Shaded garden paths ideal for an easy stroll
  • Main building and reflecting courtyard pool, lit at night
  • Suites with four-poster beds, chandeliers and sitting rooms
  • Wi-Fi, a pool and a restaurant on site

Setting

The lodge occupies a coffee estate in the Arusha area, a short way from the airport, in the highland gateway to the northern parks. The grounds are shaded and gently landscaped, with rows of coffee, garden paths and quiet corners to sit. It feels removed from the town while still being convenient, and the cooler highland air makes it pleasant to be outdoors.

Rooms and tents

Accommodation includes private cottages with wicker armchairs on a veranda surrounded by coffee bushes, and suites with a generous sitting room. Photos show a glowing four-poster bed alcove, a chandelier and a green sofa, giving a classic, slightly colonial-style character. Expect a quiet, comfortable night with proper space to unpack and repack for the next leg of the journey.

Dining

There is a full-service restaurant, and the setting on a coffee estate naturally suits a good cup to start the day. Dinner here is often a welcome, unhurried meal before an early departure, or a relaxed celebration at the end of a trip. Wi-Fi is available, and we suggest telling us about any dietary needs in advance.

Things to do from here

  • Strolling the shaded estate gardens
  • Learning about coffee on the estate
  • Swimming and relaxing by the pool
  • Planning and packing for your safari
  • Dining at the lodge

When to stay

Arusha has a pleasant highland climate, and January to March plus June to October are the most settled months, with dry, bright days and cool evenings. The long rains fall roughly from March to May, when afternoons can be wet and the gardens are lush, and the short rains arrive around November and December. Because most guests stay briefly, the lodge works well in every season.

Good to know

  • This is mainly a transit stay, so it is usually booked as the first or last night of a safari.
  • Ask us to confirm which estate activities, such as coffee tours, are currently offered to guests.
  • Lemala arranges your airport transfers, so you do not need to organise transport yourself.
  • Ask us about child policies and family room arrangements when booking.
