About Siringiti Tarangire Camp
Siringiti Tarangire Camp is a private tented camp lifted on stilts above the bush, in a park famous for its elephants. The photographs show dome-shaped guest pods glowing at dusk around a firepit, with a circular plunge pool and sundeck set among the trees, a scene that feels more design retreat than traditional bush camp.
It is a design-led camp, with an open-air lounge deck, curated shelving and a dining area just beyond, all arranged to keep the surrounding bush in constant view. Contemporary and calm, it offers a different style from the traditional canvas camps of northern Tanzania, while keeping a strong bond with the bush.
Tarangire's baobabs, big herds and birdlife make a rich backdrop, and the park is typically quieter than its famous northern neighbours. The camp suits couples, photographers and slow travellers who want a luxurious base with a lot of character and who would happily spend an afternoon watching the bush from a deck, drink in hand.
- Domed guest suites raised on stilts above the bush
- Circular plunge pool and wooden sundeck set among trees
- Private deck from each suite for stargazing at night
- Firepit lounge lit up at dusk
- Open-air lounge deck with curated decor and dining area
- Located in country known for elephants through the year
Setting
The camp rises above the treeline in Tarangire National Park, a landscape of baobabs, dry riverbeds and open woodland. From the raised decks, guests look out over a wide sweep of bush. Elephants are present throughout the year, and the park is also known for large herds, lions that sometimes climb trees and a rich bird list. Expect a dry, golden landscape for much of the year.
Rooms and tents
Suites are domed pods raised on stilts, each with a bed, a private deck and a view that opens at night to a sky full of stars. The photographs show a calm, modern interior in warm light. Expect luxury tented comfort with en-suite facilities. Ask us to confirm suite configurations, bathroom features and which suites sit nearest the pool.
Dining
Dining takes place on an open-air deck beyond the lounge, with a full-service restaurant listed for the camp. Evenings may begin around the firepit before dinner. Expect polished cooking in a setting that makes the bush part of the meal. Please share dietary needs and any special occasions in advance, and we will pass them on to the team.
Things to do from here
- Game drives among Tarangire's elephant herds and baobabs
- Birdwatching, with a long park bird list
- Plunge pool afternoons on the sundeck
- Firepit evenings under starry skies
- Photography outings in warm morning light
When to stay
The dry season from June to October is the best time for Tarangire, when wildlife gathers along the river and the bush thins for clearer viewing. Elephants are seen throughout the year. The short rains from November to December and the long rains from roughly March to May turn the park green, with fewer visitors and a lush, photogenic look. Ask us for advice on your dates.
Good to know
- Suites are raised on stilts, so ask us about steps and access if mobility is a concern.
- Power and connectivity can be limited at tented camps, so expect to be mostly offline.
- Lemala arranges transfers and game drives as part of your itinerary.
- Wildlife is wild and sightings cannot be promised, though elephants are present all year.
